I have taught for over 30 years. This is my 15th year in North Carolina, and this is my first year at GVSA.

My wife is also an ELA teacher in CMS.

I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in the countryside of Northeast Ohio.

Although I am not Amish, I was raised in a town which includes the 3rd largest Amish community in the United States
-
I have lived in Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, S. Korea, Hong Kong, and China.

I lived and taught in Asia for eight years:

South Korea (one year)

Hong Kong (four years)

Chengdu, Sichuan, China (three years)

- I have traveled to many other places in Asia: Philippines, Nepal, India, Vietnam, Thailand, and Tibet, China.
- I have coached middle school football, baseball, and middle and high school basketball for many years.
- I have also pleyed drums for over 50 years.
